Without a doubt my favourite book to date。 In part I think this is due to it being read as an audiobook by Ruth herself。 Her voice skills with all the different characters and accents was fantastic。 You fully get immersed in the characters to the point a couple of times I was in tears due to the sad parts of the story。 Cannot recommend this book highly enough！

3。5 stars for me。 I really enjoyed the first part of the book and could get behind the young girls friendship and the travelling however from then on it just seemed a diary of their lives。 Mostly explained through one trauma after another。 I think the friendship was stretched far too thin and unnecessarily continued for it to be believable。 Sadly I didn’t feel connected enough to the characters to become emotionally involved about their many hard times。
