Summary

***THE INSTANT SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER***

'A touching celebration of the beauty and endurance of female friendship。 There is nothing mightier。 Fact。' DAWN FRENCH

The new novel from Ruth Jones, co-creator of Gavin & Stacey and author of the smash-hit, number one bestselling debut, Never Greener

Friends forever is a difficult promise to keep。。。

Meet Lana, Judith and Catrin。 Best friends since primary school when they swore an oath on a Curly Wurly wrapper that they would always be there for each other, come what may。

After the trip of a lifetime, the three girls are closer than ever。 But an unexpected turn of events shakes the foundation of their friendship to its core, leaving their future in doubt - there's simply too much to forgive, let alone forget。 An innocent childhood promise they once made now seems impossible to keep 。 。 。

Packed with all the heart and empathy that made Ruth's name as a screenwriter and now author, Us Three is a funny, moving and uplifting novel about life's complications, the power of friendship and how it defines us all。

Prepare to meet characters you'll feel you've known all your life - prepare to meet Us Three

Easy easy read

A good romp。 A story about three girls who are friends in school and when they leave although they believe they will be friends forever, life gets in the way。 It's a nice read about the usual trials and tribulations we all face, children, parents, jobs, marriage, divorce, loss。 The story shows how the girls cope with the challenges and how decisions they make affect their friendship。 Another gentle book from Ruth which set in Wales seems perfectly in keeping with her character。 A good romp。 A story about three girls who are friends in school and when they leave although they believe they will be friends forever, life gets in the way。 It's a nice read about the usual trials and tribulations we all face, children, parents, jobs, marriage, divorce, loss。 The story shows how the girls cope with the challenges and how decisions they make affect their friendship。 Another gentle book from Ruth which set in Wales seems perfectly in keeping with her character。 。。。more

I really loved this book Three 8 year old girls swear an oath of forever friendship on a Curly Wurly wrapper。 Three girls, very different。 Ruth's gift for dialogue shines through as they grow into adulthood。 The characters are skilfully crafted to make them truly unique, and very believable。 A very good read I really loved this book Three 8 year old girls swear an oath of forever friendship on a Curly Wurly wrapper。 Three girls, very different。 Ruth's gift for dialogue shines through as they grow into adulthood。 The characters are skilfully crafted to make them truly unique, and very believable。 A very good read 。。。more

Read Us Three in an evening, it was such a pleasure to read。 Catrin Lana and Judith have been best friends since primary school - we first meet them planning for post A-level getaway to Greece and the bond between them is unbreakable。 As their adult lives start taking shape, other relationships and past secrets come into play, and the innocent promise to always be together is harder and harder to keep。 A beautiful story about growing up and female friendship - and it made me want to go to Greece Read Us Three in an evening, it was such a pleasure to read。 Catrin Lana and Judith have been best friends since primary school - we first meet them planning for post A-level getaway to Greece and the bond between them is unbreakable。 As their adult lives start taking shape, other relationships and past secrets come into play, and the innocent promise to always be together is harder and harder to keep。 A beautiful story about growing up and female friendship - and it made me want to go to Greece! 。。。more

MovingA wonderful book, funny and touching at the same time! I so enjoyed, she writes with wit and wisdom。 I came to love the characters and the story, but also Cyprus is my favourite place to go so it had everything!

Lana, Judith and Catrin are best friends since primary school with very different personalities。 Upon finishing high school, they set out on the trip of a lifetime where they get up to all sorts and discover plenty of secrets。The years skip ahead a bit and stuff happens and Judith and Lana end up having an epic falling out that spans decades。================This book was quite annoying to read。 There were snippets of storyline that were reasonably good and captivating, but it was all completely Lana, Judith and Catrin are best friends since primary school with very different personalities。 Upon finishing high school, they set out on the trip of a lifetime where they get up to all sorts and discover plenty of secrets。The years skip ahead a bit and stuff happens and Judith and Lana end up having an epic falling out that spans decades。================This book was quite annoying to read。 There were snippets of storyline that were reasonably good and captivating, but it was all completely overshadowed by petty squabbles and grown women acting like silly kids。Not the worst book I’ve read this year but certainly a disappointing one。 。。。more

Excellent story。 Loved it。

Without a doubt my favourite book to date。 In part I think this is due to it being read as an audiobook by Ruth herself。 Her voice skills with all the different characters and accents was fantastic。 You fully get immersed in the characters to the point a couple of times I was in tears due to the sad parts of the story。 Cannot recommend this book highly enough!

Loved this book!! Catrin, Lana and Judith have been best friends since they were 7。 As teenagers they travel to Greece, when back they live life and support each other, Catrin is the central friend who the others centre around when a tragic event in early adulthood splits Lana and Judith apart。 The book was warm, funny and full of fabulous characters。 I loved the way Judith's mother was written, so easy to imagine what she looked like。 Each girl is individual and different but they still connect Loved this book!! I only know Ruth Jones from 'Gavin and Stacey' which I loved。 It was my Mom-in-Law who recommended this book。 Three five year olds swear an oath on a curly-wurly wrapper that they'll be friends forever。 The story spans the next forty odd years with all it's ups and downs, hurts, betrayals, joys and celebrations。 I rode the gamut of emotions with them。 Enjoyable and I'm glad I have her first book on my TBR shelf。 I only know Ruth Jones from 'Gavin and Stacey' which I loved。 It was my Mom-in-Law who recommended this book。 Three five year olds swear an oath on a curly-wurly wrapper that they'll be friends forever。 The story spans the next forty odd years with all it's ups and downs, hurts, betrayals, joys and celebrations。 I rode the gamut of emotions with them。 Enjoyable and I'm glad I have her first book on my TBR shelf。 。。。more

A nice easy read, with relatable characters and a decent storyline。 Took me longer than usual to finish but that wasn't the fault of the book; too many external distractions A nice easy read, with relatable characters and a decent storyline。 Took me longer than usual to finish but that wasn't the fault of the book; too many external distractions 。。。more

3。5 stars for me。 I really enjoyed the first part of the book and could get behind the young girls friendship and the travelling however from then on it just seemed a diary of their lives。 Mostly explained through one trauma after another。 I think the friendship was stretched far too thin and unnecessarily continued for it to be believable。 Sadly I didn’t feel connected enough to the characters to become emotionally involved about their many hard times。

Roz

amazing read! Loved it even more than her previous book。 Couldn’t predict the outcome at any point。 Had me smiling one page and then feeling really emotional in the next。 Hope there is more books to come。 Really recommend this, this isn’t your average girly book!

I managed to finish this book, but to be honest, found it very predictable and a bit boring。 I enjoyed Ruth Jones in Gavin and Stacey but not sure I'd rush to read another of her books。 I found all the characters a bit wishy-washy。 I managed to finish this book, but to be honest, found it very predictable and a bit boring。 I enjoyed Ruth Jones in Gavin and Stacey but not sure I'd rush to read another of her books。 I found all the characters a bit wishy-washy。 。。。more

A novel that takes us through the trials and tribulations of long term friendships - the kind of friendships formed in youth and that make us who we are。 We see the beauty of those long standing relationships but also the difficulty when that is fractured and the people that know us at our core become those that we can't let in but can't let go。 A novel that takes us through the trials and tribulations of long term friendships - the kind of friendships formed in youth and that make us who we are。 We see the beauty of those long standing relationships but also the difficulty when that is fractured and the people that know us at our core become those that we can't let in but can't let go。 。。。more
